PAINTING IN TIME

( 16 mm /40 min / English )

goes like a few torn pages from the diary of an artist who is on a journey through Sikkim , discovering a fascinating art form named Thangka ( Tibetan painted scrolls ) and the quiet, recluse artists in the many nooks and corners in the state.

The film is not only about the timeless journey of an art form in the psyche of the people . It is also about the filmmaker’s own journey from a personal to a non-personal height.

Won a National Award as the Best film in Art & Culture category, 1995
